St. Maurice Sword

Description : This sword is a faithful replica of the Sword of St. Maurice from the Royal Army of Turin. A picture of the sword can be found on page 63 of David Edge's Arms and Armor of the Medieval Knight where it is dated at C.1200-1250. A picture can also be found at Oakeshott's The Archaeological of Weapons.
This sword has a Fuller and is of ¾th width of blade. Blade is made of EN 45 High Carbon Tempered Steel.
Blades are supplied with simple polish and with a protective coating of oil/grease/lacquer for more historical authenticity.

Description : Out of two Swords ascribed to St. Maurice (Mauritius) one of them is in Imperial Treasury in Vienna. This Sword was later decoratd with engraving by Otto IV, but the original Sword is an outstanding example of Type XI Sword - Circa 1200. This Sword consists of wooden grip covered with wire. it has got Brass Hilt and Pommel.
